Scripture: Mark 4:21-25

Verses 21-25 says, “Also He said to them, ‘Is a lamp brought to be put under a basket or under a bed? Is it not to be set on a lampstand? For there is nothing hidden which will not be revealed, nor has anything been kept secret but that it should come to light. If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.’ Then He said to them, ‘Take heed what you hear. With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given. For whoever has, to him more will be given; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.’” The Kingdom works like a lamp: when we pray in the Spirit and gain understanding, it enlightens us and that light changes things, “For there is nothing hidden which will not be revealed, nor has anything been kept secret but that it should come to light…” God’s purpose is always to reveal His Word. We know that when we pray in the Spirit, God is ready to reveal His Word. That gives us great faith and expectation that as we pray in the Spirit, a revelation of His Word will come forth. Verses 24-25 deal with what we do with the revelation we receive. As we choose to use the revelation we receive, more light and revelation will be given. But if we do not use what we are given, we will not be given more and we may lose what we were given in the first place. Is it possible to refuse to pray in the Spirit and begin losing ground? Mark 4 tells us it is, so let’s not risk losing ground in the Kingdom!
