FRIDAY, JULY 7
Scripture: 1 Kings 18:38-40

Was Elijah a prophet like Moses? 1 Kings 18:38-40 says, “Then the fire of the Lord fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood and the stones and the dust, and it licked up the water that was in the trench. Now when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces; and they said, ‘The Lord, He is God! The Lord, He is God!’ And Elijah said to them, ‘Seize the prophets of Baal! Do not let one of them escape!’ So they seized them; and Elijah brought them down to the Brook Kishon and executed them there.” So here we see Elijah and his foray in the ministry and what did he do? He challenged the establishment and the false prophets about their so-called worship. Here is Jesus, looking exactly like Moses, working through Elijah. There is a theme emerging defining a prophet like Moses as one who performs God’s judgments! We need to take a close look at Acts 3 and make certain we understand what it is telling us about the last days and the type of believers we are called to be. God gave us tongues to birth His purposes – shouldn’t we be using it?
