Scripture: Deuteronomy 17:6-9

Deuteronomy 17:6-9 says, “At the testimony of two or three witnesses they must be executed. They cannot be put to death on the testimony of only one witness. The witnesses must be first to begin the execution, and then all the people are to join in afterward. In this way you will purge evil from among you. If a matter is too difficult for you to judge—bloodshed, legal claim, or assault—matters of controversy in your villages—you must leave there and go up to the place the Lord your God chooses. You will go to the Levitical priests and the judge in office in those days and seek a solution; they will render a verdict.” Verse 8 is very important for us. It says if a matter arose that was too hard for them to decide between one judgment/punishment and another, they should go the the place the Lord choses and go to the priests and judges and seek a verdict there. There is an important purpose for tongues, and it is to pray out the judicial wisdom of God and the application that we are to make. How are we to pray over wayward Supreme Court justices and federal judges who unlawfully legislate from the bench? God gave us tongues to pray that out and Scripture tells us to pray. We see what God did for Moses and King David and we are charged in Scripture to pray judicially. We have a covenant and as we walk in that covenant God will demonstrate He is too much for the enemy. Over and over we see that. Is it possible that we have not because we have ask not? We need to start asking for the God Who is too much as we are praying in tongues and see what He does. Let’s seek to understand what is in the Word, and start doing it. Let’s start asking for God to deliver us from the bondage of the ungodly legislators and judges of today. Will God not demonstrate He is too much for them? I suspect He will!
