Scripture: Genesis 14:10-24
In Genesis 14:10-24, Abraham hears that his nephew Lot is taken captive. How does he respond? He arms his household and he trusts God and goes to war on behalf of those he is in covenant with. It is obvious that Abraham is a covenant-keeper. He walks with God Who is a Covenant-Maker and a Covenant-Keeper. Abraham honors the covenant he has with his own family and as a result of Abraham honoring covenant, he gets a great victory and he tithes from that victory to the representative of the Most High God. We find the full measure of blessing and victory on Abraham’s life and one of the reasons has to be that he is a keeper of covenant, and is keeping covenant with God as well as with his family and his friends. Are we covenant-keepers? Do we honor the covenants we have? Do we honor our family? Abraham did and it is important that we do!
