MONDAY, JULY 23
Scripture: 1 Samuel 3:19-21

1 Samuel 3:19-21 says, “So Samuel grew, and the Lord was with him and let none of his words fall to the ground. And all Israel from Dan to Beersheba knew that Samuel had been established as a prophet of the Lord. Then the Lord appeared again in Shiloh. For the Lord revealed Himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of the Lord.” Samuel developed a relationship with God. This happened because Samuel departed from the lifestyle of the previous priest Eli and his sons. Samuel lived a life of integrity, purity and obedience. He maintained his holiness. Because Samuel maintained a life of holiness, none of his words fell to the ground. God honored the relationship that Samuel walked and lived. Character counts in Christ! A life of character, a life of obedience and a life of yielding to the Holy Spirit pays off. All of Samuel’s prophetic words came to pass. He put a bit and bridle in his mouth. He did not prophesy to please man. His first word was about judgment on Eli’s house. He often prophesied what people did not want to hear. He disciplined himself to wait on the Lord! He is an example of how God is calling us to live!
