Scripture: Matthew 12:14-18

One of the primary assignments that Jesus had to accomplish prophetically was to fulfill Isaiah 42.  The first verse quoted out of Isaiah 42 in Matthew 12 is verse 18, “‘Behold! My Servant whom I have chosen, My Beloved in whom My soul is well pleased; I will put My Spirit upon Him, And He will declare justice to the Gentiles.‘”  The Greek word for justice is kre-sis.  It means the decision of a judge; the actual judgment.  It denotes the action expressed by the verbal stem i.e. a verdict, sentence or decision in battle.  Jesus came to reveal the Father!  The foundation of His Throne is justice.  Man cannot connect with God without connecting with justice.  Not only did Jesus have to make justice available, but notice God’s purpose in connecting kre-is with the anointing, “I will put My Spirit upon Him, And He will declare‘”   Any person who receives the Holy Spirit receives access to God’s justice!
