Scripture: Genesis 12:1-3, 14-17

Genesis 12:3 gives us the judicial component of the Abrahamic covenant that we participate in.  It says, “’I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’  Isn’t it interesting that the promised blessing also includes justice.  ‘Those who come against you, I will come against!’”  In a sense the Abrahamic covenant has a judicial blessing.  The question is, how do we activate that?  Number one, we must realize it is there.  Number two, we have to be prepared to ask for it.  We must be prepared to put a demand on it.  How are we doing in that category?  Are we hesitant to put a demand on God’s justice?  Jesus doesn’t like it when we hesitate to do that.  Mordecai Ham didn’t hesitate to do that.  Why is the American Church so hesitant to call for covenant justice?  Why do we continue to bless evil year after year after year after year?  Why do we enable it to stay in power until it destroys the land?  That is the fruit of tradition.  Jesus said “Your traditions have made the Word of God of none affect.” The condition of America proves that point!
