Scripture: Genesis 12:14-17

The first question we have to ask concerning the Abrahamic covenant is, did it have any judicial elements? The answer, of course, is absolutely!  The last two “I wills…” of the five “I wills” that make up the Abrahamic covenant were, ’I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’” The judicial element of the Abrahamic covenant is, “…I will curse him who curses you…” “What others do to you, I will do to them.”  So then we ask ourselves, how does that work?  In verses 14-17, we find out, “So it was, when Abram came into Egypt, that the Egyptians saw the woman, that she was very beautiful. The princes of Pharaoh also saw her and commended her to Pharaoh. And the woman was taken to Pharaoh’s house. He treated Abram well for her sake… But the LORD plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai, Abram’s wife.”  Pharaoh took Abraham’s wife into his tent.  As a result, God plagued Pharaoh until he released Sarai.  Is God plaguing the Supreme Court?  Is God plaguing the President?  Is God plaguing Nancy Pelosi? Is God plaguing Harry Reid?  If God is not plaguing the aberrant and perverse leaders, then it is because the church has become gutless and refuses to put a demand on God for covenant action in the face of those who would steal, kill, destroy and take away everything that previous generations bought in religious freedom!  If we are looking for a city whose builder and maker is God then we must ask God to remove demonized leaders.  I am looking for a church who stands up in covenant and God visits the enemy and disposes of them permanently.  That is the God to whom we are connected and what the covenant promises!  Demanding covenant action is our part!
