March 2011 Outcry

Please join me in praying Psalm 76.  It says, “In Judah God is known; His name is great in Israel. In Salem also is His tabernacle, And His dwelling place in Zion. There He broke the arrows of the bow, The shield and sword of battle.  Selah. You are more glorious and excellent Than the mountains of prey The stouthearted were plundered; They have sunk into their sleep; And none of the mighty men have found the use of their hands.  At Your rebuke, O God of Jacob, Both the chariot and horse were cast into a dead sleep. You, Yourself, are to be feared; And who may stand in Your presence When once You are angry?  You caused judgment to be heard from heaven; The earth feared and was still, When God arose to judgment, To deliver all the oppressed of the earth.  Selah  Surely the wrath of man shall praise You; With the remainder of wrath You shall gird Yourself.  Make vows to the LORD your God, and pay them; Let all who are around Him bring presents to Him who ought to be feared. He shall cut off the spirit of princes; He is awesome to the kings of the earth.”

Psalm 76 promises a visitation upon princes, prime ministers and presidents as the God of the plumbline reveals His standard of righteousness to leaders.  That standard forces choices either for or against righteousness.  For those who reject God’s plumbline, He shall cut them off as promised.

The Lord upholds His own counsel by making dramatic interventions when His people are threatened.  The burning bush is just one example of God intervening in order to free people for their destiny.  When the destiny of a generation or a nation is threatened, God is accessible for intervention.  The Word proves that concept consistently!

As we lay hold of Psalm 76, our prayer is for divine intervention at the highest level because perverse leaders refuse God’s standard of righteousness.  When corruption threatens to destroy a generation God will intervene to save.   Securing a harvest is an assignment.    Prayer changes things.   Praying for divine intervention is the very least we can do in this hour.

Jesus died for a harvest, and it is incumbent on us to ask for what He fully bought and paid for.  Psalm 2 commands us to ask for a harvest!  The time to ask is here!  Psalm 76 promises removal of the greatest hindrances – pray it now!
