Scripture: Matthew 10:27

Matthew 10:27 is a very special verse to me, because in April of 1986, I heard the audible voice of the Lord. “Prepare my people for persecution!” I began to pray about what to do with that assignment. How do you prepare people who refuse to be prepared for persecution? It would be another 10 years before God would give me the prophetic structure that became the initial meat of the message that could introduce that call. The meat of that message is in a book called Marked Men. Each new revelation that followed The Sure Mercies of David and Jesus & Justice prepare the church to overcome persecution and gain a harvest. The church who winds up the age responds far differently than the church who began the church age! But now, after all these years, with the completion of the series, the Kingly Character of Christ, I feel that the preparation is approaching maturity. How can it be that God would audibly give you a command to do something and then take 30 years to complete the message that makes up the core of the assignment? What kind of grace and mercy does God have for generations of people to take that long in the preparation of the message? We serve an awesome and amazing God and the truth of the matter is, no one in the body of Christ is ready for end-time persecution until we know the God who dispenses double death and can stand and represent Him. Then and only then are we ready for whatever the enemy throws at us!
