Scripture: 1 Corinthians 6:9-11

Verses 9-11 state, “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.” Is it not interesting that extortioners will not inherit the Kingdom? Does that mean that every minister who stood before a congregation and manipulated them in order to gain money will be disqualified from the Kingdom unless he repents? If the Word is to be believed, extortion in whatever form – and I have seen multiple forms in the church – disqualifies a person from the Kingdom. You cannot be a manipulator for money and hear anything but “…depart from me you worker of iniquity, I never knew you.” This is not rocket science and we should not have to think twice about which end of this we want to be on. It is time to choose the Holy Spirit!
