Scripture: John 5:22-24

John 5:22-24 says, “For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son, that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him. ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.’” The amazing part of John 5 is the revelation that all judgment has been committed to the Son for a specific purpose. All judgment is committed to the Son, for one reason, that all should honor the Son. So when the church refuses to judge righteous judgment, we are refusing to honor the Father who sent the Son as His Holy standard of righteousness. When we are absolutely deceived into refusing to judge, we are dishonoring the Son. What can we say about this passage? It should convict every one of us concerning the righteous Standard of His Word. Can we present it in the love of God with acceptance to the unbeliever and yet with warning? Without the warning, there is no reason for a person to repent. Jesus is the judge. Are we honoring Him or are we dishonoring Him by accepting what He judges?
