Scripture: Isaiah 1:21-24

Isaiah 1:21-24 says, “How the faithful city has become a harlot! It was full of justice; Righteousness lodged in it, But now murderers. Your silver has become dross, Your wine mixed with water. Your princes are rebellious, And companions of thieves; Everyone loves bribes, And follows after rewards. They do not defend the fatherless, Nor does the cause of the widow come before them. Therefore the Lord says, The LORD of hosts, the Mighty One of Israel, ‘Ah, I will rid Myself of My adversaries, And take vengeance on My enemies.’” Look at what is required for God to release His judgment: bribes, refusing to defend the fatherless and refusing to honor the widow. What our politicians are doing is enough to move God into judicial action. And when that judicial action comes, He says He will rid Himself of His adversaries, and take vengeance on His enemies. People can preach all day long that none of this matters because all judgment falls on Jesus but the book of Revelation renders that line of thinking void. The book of Revelation makes the reality of Isaiah 1:21-24 New Testament all the way to the core and anybody who denies it is living in spiritual la-la land. They have made God into somebody of their own image and they have edited out of today’s culture Jesus the Judge. The reason there is no fear of God in the land sits at the feet of compromising ministers!
