Scripture: Isaiah 4:1-4

Isaiah 4:1-4 states, “And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, ‘We will eat our own food and wear our own apparel; Only let us be called by your name, To take away our reproach.’ The Renewal of Zion In that day the Branch of the LORD shall be beautiful and glorious; And the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and appealing For those of Israel who have escaped. And it shall come to pass that he who is left in Zion and remains in Jerusalem will be called holy—everyone who is recorded among the living in Jerusalem. When the Lord has washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and purged the blood of Jerusalem from her midst, by the spirit of judgment and by the spirit of burning,…” Most of us, in Bible School and Seminary, were taught about the gifts of the Spirit and were taught to do what Scripture says: to earnestly desire and seek the gifts of the Spirit. It seems, according to Isaiah, that part of the empowering of the Spirit in the last days will include the release of the spirit of judgment and the spirit of burning. Perhaps this is what the seals, trumpets and bowls of Revelation are all about. The spirit of judgment and the spirit of burning are real. It is possible to qualify so that we carry both. When the Spirit came, fire was part of the experience. Why have we never pursued an increase in the anointing for fire? It almost seems like there is an invitation to participate in this realm and dimension based on what we experience with people who refuse to repent. All those who walked through the fire stood. Here we stand, cleansed, purified and ready for the Master’s work. I trust we choose to be in the group that calls down fire!
