Scripture: Psalm 102

Discerning affliction begins by asking the Lord to reveal the root! “Why am I facing this? How should I respond?” When I ask these questions, I expect chapter and verse answers. Psalm 102 is another prayer for overwhelmed, afflicted saints. It is given to carry us through devastating circumstances where we are in an ongoing spiritual battle and do not find any relief. Psalm 102 is written specifically to carry us through affliction. We need to use it for just exactly that. Whether God or the enemy, 2 Corinthians 4:17 encourages with an eternal perspective of affliction – compared to eternity, it is temporary and light!
