Scripture: Genesis 18:1,7-14, Joel 2:26

In Genesis 18:1, the Lord appeared to Abram by the terebinth trees of Mamre. He was sitting in the tent door, in the heat of the day. But when we jump over to verses 7-14, Abram is running to the herd, preparing a young calf and is entertaining his angelic visitors. This hospitality brings a promise. The promise is, I am going to give you a son. Abram and Sarai were protesting because of their age. But verse 14 becomes the foundation of Joel 2:26. Verse 14 says, “Is anything too hard/paw-law for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.” Is anything too difficult for the Lord? Joel 2:26 makes it clear that by the use of paw-law when it says, “You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, And praise the name of the Lord your God, Who has dealt wondrously/paw-law with you; And My people shall never be put to shame.” The covenant promise to Abraham that removed the shame of barrenness came at the appointed time. If we are prepared for the appointed time, the Kingly Christ will rise in the church and the end-time harvest will be inevitable.
