September 2013 Outcry

On July 30, I went to the hospital for a routine surgery.  Because the post-operative bleeding would not stop, two more surgeries became two near-death experiences.  As I prayed for definition, the phrase “tasted death” kept coming. The biblical phrase the Lord gave to describe my experience comes from Hebrews 2, where Jesus “tasted death” to guarantee specific authority to the church!  I believe a fresh baptism of what Hebrews 2 promises is opening to the church:

Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away. For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward, how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him, God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will? The Son Made Lower than Angels For He has not put the world to come, of which we speak, in subjection to angels.  But one testified in a certain place, saying:  ‘What is man that You are mindful of him, Or the son of man that You take care of him? You have made him a little lower than the angels; You have crowned him with glory and honor, And set him over the works of Your hands. You have put all things in subjection under his feet.’ For in that He put all in subjection under him, He left nothing that is not put under him. But now we do not yet see all things put under him. But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone. (vs. 1-9)

Our politicians and judges are protecting through legislation what God has sworn to judge with death according to Romans 1:32, “…who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.”  America is headed toward unspeakable judgment unless the church arises.

After “tasting death” my outcry is for mercy for the nation and all those who are clueless to the repercussions of their deception. God gave authority to his church to move his hand. Abraham said, “Shall not the judge of all the earth do right?” It is not right for the righteous to be penalized with the wicked. It is not right for believers to have sons and daughters overcome by gross deception.

Jesus died so we could pray intervention.  He promised signs and wonders!  When you “taste death,” intercession often comes with tears.   Oh God, have mercy on the United States of America, on the righteous and on those captured by deathly deception. Send signs and wonders that Arrest the proponents of evil. Give us an outpouring of salvation so that millions might be saved and not “taste death.”  Oh God, do surgery on this nation and restore us to our Creator by removing the infected parts!
