TUESDAY, DECEMBER 17
Scripture: Mark 10:44,45

In verses 44,45 Jesus once again emphasized the truth of choosing the biblical pathway of servanthood in order to build in the Kingdom. Verses 44,45 state, “And whoever of you desires to be first shall be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” Jesus finishes off this distinction between how the world builds and how He builds by giving His own life as the example. He came to serve, He did not come to be served. He came to give, He did not come to take. And only if we choose His path will we have a ministry that shines in eternity. If we go the way of the world and if we choose to use the principles verse 42 warns about in an attempt to build something ‘mega’, then we will be very sadly surprised on Judgment Day because what we build will not count at all in eternity.
