Scripture: 1 Chronicles 21:9-12, Revelation 22:19

In verses 9-12, God gives David a choice. The Word says, “Then the Lord spoke to Gad, David’s seer, saying, ‘Go and tell David, saying, “Thus says the Lord: ‘I offer you three things; choose one of them for yourself, that I may do it to you.’”‘ So Gad came to David and said to him, ‘Thus says the Lord: “Choose for yourself, either three years of famine, or three months to be defeated by your foes with the sword of your enemies overtaking you, or else for three days the sword of the Lord—the plague in the land, with the angel of the Lord destroying throughout all the territory of Israel.” Now consider what answer I should take back to Him who sent me.’” He can choose three years of famine, three months to be defeated by his enemies or three days with the Sword of the Lord bringing destruction in Jerusalem and the territory of Israel. David had to make a painful choice. Israel understood sin had consequences. And that has been lost today. There is hardly any understanding of what brings divine adversity at all, even in the church. In addition, we have ministers teaching that there is no more judgment. I would not want to be in their shoes because of Revelation 22:19, “…and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.” The central theme of Revelation is God’s judgment for man’s rebellion. If we preach that Revelation was fulfilled by 70 AD, then we take away judgment and qualify for the penalty of Revelation 22:9. No wonder there is no fear of God in the church today, with ministers proclaiming, ‘There is no more judgment!’ This destroys all foundation for the fear of the Lord. The enemy has sown significant tares in the Body of Christ and they need to be removed first. First the tares must go, so the church can hear the Word. Right now the wolves seem to outnumber the true leaders. It is time for a confrontation between the true apostles and the counterfeit. It is time for those who have chosen to follow Paul and live like he lived in 2 Corinthians 11, to release the authority to cut off the counterfeit and the false. Then perhaps those in leadership and government will learn the fear of the Lord by watching God clean up the church, deal with the heretics and remove the tares. Church could get exciting!
