FRIDAY, JULY 18
Scripture: Deuteronomy 1:12-18

The first thing we learn about mish-pawt is that the act of deciding a legal dispute is the foundation for all the ‘Thus saith the Lords…’ in Scripture. Mish-pawt is the act of deciding a legal dispute. It becomes the foundation for all justice/judgment. Because of this, we know it demands total impartiality. God will not tolerate any partiality in judgment. People do not get off just because they are related to the judge. The first thing we have to know is that the judgment is God’s. Moses promised to arbitrate any issue too hard for people. It is obvious that God taught Moses how to walk in the paths of judgment. And God is willing to teach us. He wants us to know the act of deciding a legal dispute. He wants us to be able to walk in it. The question is, will we?
