Scripture: Exodus 21:1

Exodus 21:1 is a perfect example of Moses having to delineate the judgments that were a part of Israel’s life. Verse 1 says, “Now these are the judgments which you shall set before them:…” Abraham said yes to the covenant and because he did, the Jewish people were delivered from bondage. In Exodus 1, it was time for Moses to teach them the judgments that they were going to walk in. The righteousness that made those judgments possible was given directly by God in the previous chapter. This is the pattern – we choose to live according to the righteous standards of Scripture. That qualifies us then to pray the judgments of God.
