Scripture: Ephesians 1:19, 3:10,11

Who is Jesus in Ephesians? In Ephesians 1:19-21 it says, “…and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.” So in Ephesians 1:19-21, He has the name that is above every name. What about in Ephesians 3:10? In Ephesians 3:10,11, He has a purpose for the church. It says, “…to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord,…” Father God has an eternal purpose of which He invites His church to partake. That eternal purpose is that we would demonstrate to principalities and powers that they do not rule. How could we do that? We could pray God’s judgment on their representatives and thereby free people from deceptive darkness. When a leader or politician is a representative of principalities and powers, we can see it by their fruit. If their actions and decisions bring devastation and death on individuals and lands, then the church should pray them into judgment as the Holy Spirit directs. Judgment demonstrates to the principalities and powers that they do not rule. If we cannot do that, then we forfeit a potentially great harvest. Do we believe that Jesus is big enough in us to demonstrate to principalities and powers that they do not rule? If we believe that, then Jesus is Who He says He is to us in Ephesians. That gives me great hope for the church!
