SUNDAY, DECEMBER 7
Scripture: Judges 2:6-16

A generation grew up after Joshua who did not know the Lord. And consequently, they sinned and God’s Hand could not move in their behalf. They became greatly distressed by various enemies until they cried out to the Lord. The Lord raised up judges who delivered them out of the hand of those who plundered them. But the question is, what did the judges do? The judges executed judgment on those who were spoiling them and brought deliverance. A judge acted as the shaw-phat and the prophetic proclamation of a shaw-phat was a mish-pawt which became a ‘judgment.’ So as we see the judges establish the way of the Lord, they are God’s interim deliverance for the children of Israel as they choose whether to walk in covenant by doing righteousness or to reject it. One of the things that we need to look at today is, what is the fruit of rejecting God’s covenant and walking away from righteousness. The answer is, our enemies multiply against us!
