Scripture: Psalm 139:13-24

David was a man after God’s own heart. And notice what he said, “Do I not hate them, O Lord, who hate You? And do I not loathe those who rise up against You? I hate them with perfect hatred; I count them my enemies.” And immediately in verses 23,24 he asked God to search his heart, “Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.” David could say, ‘I hate those who hate You, I hate them with a perfect hatred…’ and then he could invite God to search his heart, knowing full well that he was in the right place. Are we anywhere close to that? If we are going to be a man like David, we have to not only get close to that, we have to become that! The question is, will we?
