Scripture: Genesis 28:20-22

In Genesis 28:20-22 we are told, “Then Jacob made a vow, saying, ‘If God will be with me, and keep me in this way that I am going, and give me bread to eat and clothing to put on, so that I come back to my father’s house in peace, then the Lord shall be my God. And this stone which I have set as a pillar shall be God’s house, and of all that You give me I will surely give a tenth to You.’” Here we find out what the tithe includes. The very first thing the tithe does is put meat in God’s House. And Bethel became home to the House of the Lord. When we tithe it means that everywhere we go, God goes with us. And because God is with us, we have a Covenant-Keeping Friend in our corner giving us aid, direction and whatever else we need to survive what we are facing. God is with us. Every single believer needs that. It is a major biblical promise.
