SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17
Scripture: Numbers 8:19, Ephesians 4:8-13

Numbers 8:19 says, “And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and his sons from among the children of Israel, to do the work for the children of Israel in the tabernacle of meeting, and to make atonement for the children of Israel, that there be no plague among the children of Israel when the children of Israel come near the sanctuary.” The tithe was made with the Levites forever as a covenant of salt. When we look at the High Priesthood of Aaron and we go to the book of Ephesians, we find that when Jesus ascended on high and led captivity captive, He gave gifts to men. According to Ephesians 4:11,12, “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,…” These individuals in five-fold ministry are the New Testament Levites. And their job is to equip the people of God to move in the fullness of their Priesthood, both to save and to judge. The tithe is the support of God’s people that makes that possible. And I trust, before we are done, we will have people fully equipped to display the fullness of Christ in the last days.
