Scripture: Deuteronomy 8:1-3

Deuteronomy 8:1-3 says, “Every commandment which I command you today you must be careful to observe, that you may live and multiply, and go in and possess the land of which the Lord swore to your fathers. And you shall remember that the Lord your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not. So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord.” God put the Israelites into the wilderness for 40 years. And we are told in verse 3 what the lesson was. The lesson was connected to man on a foundational principle of the Kingdom, “…man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord.” Once we understand that, we are ready to build our life before God so that we can walk with Him in supernatural provision. The most important thing we do is interact with God’s Word. If we are Christians that do not have a solid foundation in the Word, we are Christians who are not going to see much of God’s supernatural manifestation. But if we give ourselves to the Word, we sow for a continual harvest of those promises that we memorize and speak into our hearts and lives. God’s promises make borders and boundaries!
