SUNDAY, DECEMBER 13
Scripture: 2 Peter 3:8-10

Verses 8-10 state, “But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.” We know the Day of the Lord is coming. It is a day of judgment and a day of destruction. But we do not want that day to come until we get the full measure of the harvest that Jesus bled and died for. It is our responsibility to pray accordingly and ask the Lord for time to gain that harvest. Jesus died for it and we want to possess it for Him. We cannot neglect praying appropriate judgment on the wicked without jeopardizing the nation. Moses had the same problem. The model that worked for him will work for us! Let us allow the Spirit to lead us into the prayers of imprecatory mercy!
