Scripture: 2 Thessalonians 2:5-7

2 Thessalonians 2:5-7 says, “Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way.” If you and I walk in the Holy Spirit in our generation, we have a job. Our job is to follow the Spirit, and often that means following Him in judgment to restrain evil through our obedient prayers. It is part of our job. And one of the fastest ways to restrain evil is to use our faith to walk in the covenant of salt. Can we do that? 2 Thessalonians 2 is a clear indication that the Holy Spirit restrains evil and does so through the church. But if we turn the other cheek to evil in every case, we will likely thwart His purposes. Are we going to contend for the faith once delivered to the church? Once we are in the habit of using our faith on our own flesh, then and only then can we use it for Kingdom judicial purposes.
