WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 5
Scripture: Mark 9:39-41

Jesus responded to John’s inclination to cut off a person doing ministry by saying this, “But Jesus said, ‘Do not forbid him, for no one who works a miracle in My name can soon afterward speak evil of Me. For he who is not against us is on our side. For whoever gives you a cup of water to drink in My name, because you belong to Christ, assuredly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward.’” One of the first things we have to learn is not to judge by the yardsticks of our own experiences and lives. Doing that is dangerous territory – both for us and the people we may judge. We can only judge by the yardstick the Lord gives us in any given situation. We can only judge by the witness of the Spirit. I trust we will learn this because it is essential in the last days. We have to discern the ministries around us accurately and realize that the time may come that our anointed discernment may very well be a life or death issue.
