SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 19
Scripture: 1 Samuel 17:42-50

David made a habit of acting on God’s Word and had grown in faith so that when Goliath taunted him he could reply with confidence. In verse 46-47 he said, “This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you into our hands.” David knew where his trust was. His trust was in God to deliver him. He was wholly sold out and was willing to put his life on the line because he believed that God would deliver him. And God did. That is what faith is all about. To embrace our full destiny, the church must walk in this level of faith. And Jesus said in Revelation 22:16, “Tell the church I am the root and fruit of David.” We are called to represent Him and He is the root and fruit of David. To fulfill our call and walk victoriously in the last days, we need to develop the kind of faith that David walked in.
