Scripture: Hebrews 11:32-33, Jeremiah 1:9-14

The prophets are all said to have subdued kingdoms. As we look at each prophet to discover how, we begin to realize that God has a variety of applications of faith to accomplish His purpose and plan in the earth. Jeremiah 1:9-14 says, “Then the Lord put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me: ‘Behold, I have put My words in your mouth. See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, To root out and to pull down, To destroy and to throw down, To build and to plant.’ Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying, ‘Jeremiah, what do you see?’ And I said, ‘I see a branch of an almond tree.’ Then the Lord said to me, ‘You have seen well, for I am ready to perform My word.’ And the word of the Lord came to me the second time, saying, ‘What do you see?’ And I said, ‘I see a boiling pot, and it is facing away from the north.’ Then the Lord said to me: ‘Out of the north calamity shall break forth On all the inhabitants of the land.’” How was the calamity to happen? It would come forth from the words Jeremiah was to speak that came from the Lord. How did David, Samuel and the prophets subdue kingdoms? Sometimes they used the sword, but often they used the Word of the Lord and prayer and waited for God to do it. Does that say something to us? Hebrews 11 gives us very clear instruction to use these men as examples. We can walk in faith the same way they did and proclaim what God gives us to proclaim, the same way they did. What a season we are in and what a harvest we are called to bring in! It is time to get ready!
