Scripture: Zachariah 6:9-13

Zachariah’s word is perhaps one of the most balanced words there is for the church in today’s world. It says, “Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying: ‘Receive the gift from the captives—from Heldai, Tobijah, and Jedaiah, who have come from Babylon—and go the same day and enter the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah. Take the silver and gold, make an elaborate crown, and set it on the head of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest. Then speak to him, saying, “Thus says the Lord of hosts, saying: ‘Behold, the Man whose name is the BRANCH! From His place He shall branch out, And He shall build the temple of the Lord; Yes, He shall build the temple of the Lord. He shall bear the glory, And shall sit and rule on His throne; So He shall be a priest on His throne, And the counsel of peace shall be between them both.’”’” The Lord says He is going to establish the Priestly and the Kingly rule of Christ and, in God’s economy, there is a Throne for each. But notice where the council of peace is – the council of peace comes between the Priestly and Kingly anointing. The counsel of peace is determined by which anointing we are led to move in. We must discover in each specific situation, do we speak peace and repentance or do we speak judgment and repentance? Will the judgment message turn the lost and bring repentance like it did in Nineveh? Or will a peace message bring repentance? Which do we demonstrate? That is a question we have to ask the Lord and only the Spirit can lead us in which way to go. We have to be prepared to pray either way because the goal is a harvest. I trust we will see it, in Jesus’ name!
