FRIDAY, MARCH 31
Scripture: Luke 11:11-13

We can all use edifying in this building process. For those of us who don’t feel like we have our prayer language, Luke 11:11-13 guarantees God will give us what we’re asking for. It says, “If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” Launch out in faith and speak, expecting God will do as promised – forming your utterances into a language that speaks God’s mysteries! The Greek word in 1 Corinthians 14:4 translated “edify” is oy-kod-om-eh-o and means, ‘To build a house; to build up from the foundation; to restore by building; to promote growth in Christian wisdom, affection, grace, virtue, holiness and blessedness; to grow in wisdom and piety; imparting strength and courage to do what is right; to embolden; to make more able.’ This is a list with multiple applications we can use. Praying in the Spirit invites God to intervene in the construction process of our lives as we develop spiritually. Let’s deepen our understanding of tongues and commit to grow into all that He has for us, in Jesus’ name!
