Scripture: Exodus 19:20-22

Verses 20-22 says, “Then the Lord came down upon Mount Sinai, on the top of the mountain. And the Lord called Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up. And the Lord said to Moses, ‘Go down and warn the people, lest they break through to gaze at the Lord, and many of them perish. Also let the priests who come near the Lord consecrate themselves, lest the Lord break out against them.’” Here we have God warning the people they were not willing to pay the price of preparation and were not ready. They had not separated, they had not washed and they had not sanctified. Moses had to warn them God was not kidding. They promised to hear and obey, but they did not do it. Moses had to warn them that not hearing and obeying meant they would see the Lord break out against them. God is very clear in what He expects from us. Sanctify, wash, be ready!
