Scripture: Deuteronomy 18:13-15

Deuteronomy 18:13-15 says, “You shall be blameless before the Lord your God. For these nations which you will dispossess listened to soothsayers and diviners; but as for you, the Lord your God has not appointed such for you. The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your midst, from your brethren. Him you shall hear,…” This is a verse that Moses could not fully comprehend and we have people in the church today that have yet to understand. For many, this is still a mystery today but it is a mystery God wants to bring us into so we fully understand it. Until we understand it, we cannot do our assigned part to wind up the age. Walking with Him in the end of the age requires a full understanding of what will be required from believers. Jesus is a prophet like Moses and we know it from the New Testament. God speaks by prophets and does not allow us to listen to soothsayers or diviners. God appointed prophets and the calling can be hard both on the prophet and the recipients of their prophecies. Why is it soothsayers often deliver good words and prophets deliver hard ones? Thank God we have the Ultimate Prophet, which is Christ Jesus. Will the God of today do what He did in other generations by His Spirit? Is He as much of a Judge today as He was in Old Testament times? What would Jesus the Prophet look like if He showed up today? It is an important question for all of us because if we do not answer it, we will be lacking key components of what God intends for us. A prophetic friend recently sent us a teaching entitled, “Accurate Discernment is Essential for Kingdom Ministry.” In this razor-sharp challenge he says we must ask the Lord to reveal the sources of demonic attack. Questions like the ones put forth by our friend are relevant and necessary. What are the sources of demonic attack and who are the satanic forces using to bring these attacks? How do you overcome these attacks with the Wisdom of the Spirit? Are we being cursed or put under a spell and how are these demonic initiatives broken? Clear guidance and counsel is crucial when dealing with the realm of darkness. We must be able to distinguish and discern the genuine guidance of the Lord from the counterfeit which will make every attempt to mimic and deceive. This day and hour requires a depth of knowledge and understanding that only the Holy Spirit can unfold and will probably only come through redemptive revelatory encounters but they have to be Word-based!
