Scripture: 2 Samuel 12:15-21

In this passage King David prayed and he is fasted in the hope of saving the life of the unborn child. The child died and so finally David rose from his place of prayer. He perceived that the child is dead. First, King David acknowledged his stuff. Number two, David accepted the judicial plan for God’s restoration, he accepted the time frame. Number three once the child died David got up. Number four he washed. Number five he anointed himself. Number six he changed his clothes and went back in the house of the Lord and reconnected with God. Number seven, he worshipped the Lord and then he went to his own house. He requested food and then he ate. All of his servants were puzzled and were afraid to tell him when the child died. They were afraid to tell him as they thought he might harm himself. The religious mind cannot accept how God deals with sin. The religious mind wants to pay a price like rejection forever but that is not God’s way. Even when ministers mess up, God usually will not put people out of ministry forever. He has a heart to restore, and He always has! The only people who destroy their own wounded are the legalistic Pharisees in the church. We need to learn God’s heart in this process.
