Scripture: Ephesians 1:3-4. Exodus 29:1-12

Ephesians 1:3-4 says, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,…” Sonship gift number one is chosen. Sonship gift number two is holy, and Sonship gift number three is without blame, which is the Greek word am-o-mos. Am-o-mos means without blemish or spotless. In classical Greek am-o-mos is used as a technical word to designate the absence of something amiss in a sacrifice or anything which would render it unworthy to be offered! When the sacrifice was am-o-mos, it was fully acceptable or perfect. When we look into the process of consecration, Exodus 29:1-12 gives us a Biblical example. The very first thing mentioned was that the priest had to take a bull as the sin offering but it had to be without blemish. This was a picture of Christ as our sacrificial Lamb. The perfect animal absorbed the sin and imperfections of the people or things being consecrated. This process of transference prepared man to receive Christ! Am-o-mos was the process of consecration or purification that caused one to stand before God free from sin so that he could do business with the King. The purpose was to make someone qualified to do business with the King and stand confidently before Him.
