Scripture: James 2:25
James 2:25 is dealing with the issue of justification—’just as if we’d never done it’ and says, “Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way? For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.” Rahab became an example of faith and how it works and its power to transform. God is much more interested in faith and obedience than He is in what kind of business we were in before we met Him, what kind of mistakes we made prior to knowing Him, and what sins we’ve asked forgiveness for since knowing Him. It is obvious because of the inclusion of this woman who had a brothel and went on to become an example of faith in Faith’s Hall of Fame in Hebrews. Anyone who thinks they don’t qualify because of past sexual escapades or sin better think again.
