Scripture: Romans 12:1

Romans 12:1 says, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.” The Sonship Gifts of Ephesians are our spiritual inheritance in Christ but each one must be assimilated and become part of us. The process explained right here in Romans 12:1 where we learn to renew our minds to think like God is instructive. By doing this we are walking toward the fullness of our divine inheritance. There is a process of change and growth that takes time to become like Christ but that is the goal. The phrase “your reasonable service” in the New King James is put a number of different ways in other translations. “This is the way to truly worship him.” “This is your true and proper worship”, also “Your spiritual service of worship.” This is the growth that takes place when we give God’s Word the key and valued place in our lives. As we yield to the Word, Christ is formed in us!
