FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 1
Scripture: Ephesians 1:7

In Ephesians 1:7 we are told, “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace…” Forgiveness of sin here is af-es-is. It is used for forgiveness and it is used for remission of sin. This word is translated both as forgiveness and also as remission in different Bible passages. Both concepts naturally develop together. Forgiveness brings freedom from the blame, shame and guilt. Expunging the record of sin through remission promotes confidence as the memory fades into oblivion. The platform for faith now exists to build a future free from fear. A fearless army can now emerge! There is an unfolding progression in scripture concerning this word that will help us understand exactly why we see confidence as the chief fruit. Sonship Gift 7 establishes the believer as a functioning member of God’s Family destined to rule. The great commission encourages us to bear rule as citizens of God’s Kingdom. We know Sonship was the origin of Paul’s confidence and freedom to rule. Tracing this process in Scripture will establish us in confidence for our assignment.
